3...2...1 Back to School BASH!

Happy Back to School, friends! I am excited to be collaborating with some of my blogging buddies over at The Primary Pack to bring you a huge blog hop to celebrate Back to School season! Our hop is a 3…2…1… BACK TO SCHOOL BASH because each member of The Primary Pack will be giving you 3 teacher tips, 2 giveaways (one on each of our blogs and one BIG one on the Primary Pack), and 1 freebie!
To enter our BIG giveaway, you need to head over to THE PRIMARY PACK first! As you "hop" through each of our blogs, you will collect a letter from each of us… 28 total. Those letters spell out a secret code that you need to enter our BIG giveaway! You will use the secret code to enter the rafflecoptor on The Primary Pack at the end of the hop.
 You need to collect the letters from us IN ORDER, so please make sure that you start from the beginning of our hop. Click on the button below to head over to THE PRIMARY PACK and start our BACK TO SCHOOL BASH!!

If you've already hopped though and have made it to my blog, I'm glad you're here! First up, here are some teacher tips that I hope will help you for the upcoming school year.

It's always easier to talk with parents about negative things when you've previously established a relationship based on the positive. Keep a checklist of when you engage in positive communication with parents so that none of your kiddos slide under the radar. {This is also a great way to collect evidence for a parent communication goal.} I try to make my "happy calls" which can be a phone call or an email at least once a month. I set myself a goal to email or call a few parents each afternoon before I leave school. Just a few minutes go a long way!

Take pictures and make a PowerPoint of your morning routine. This will help students be independent, and will keep questions to a minimum. It is especially helpful in kindergarten when students may not be able to read a morning routine list yet!

Make super simple versions of activities that you use all year long. This will help your students learn the rules and routines behind the activities, and will save you from a lot of re-teaching once your curriculum is underway! {We use roll and color all the time in math, so I made a simple back to school picture version to teach it!}

By now, you all know about the first giveaway for a Silhouette Cameo at The Primary Pack
The second giveaway is for a $25 credit to my TPT store! $25 can go a long way in my little shop, and it's the perfect way to kick off a new school year! Enter the rafflecopter below!

B2S Survival Box & A FREEBIE for YOU!

Hi friends! Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've blogged, but I promise I have a good excuse! Over the summer, due to low enrollment, I was moved to a different school within my district. I knew this was most likely going to happen at the end of the school year, but I was still holding onto hope. Nothing was final until August, and I knew that enrollment would keep climbing. Unfortunately for me, it didn't climb enough, so off to my new school I went {oh yeah, and off to a new HOUSE, too! Talk about a summer of moving!}.
Here I was, sitting in my car outside my new school and TERRIFIED to go in! I knew that ultimately, my room would come together, everyone would be nice and inviting, and I would have a great year. Still, in the back of my mind, I couldn't help missing my old school family and my old room! {I promise, I only cried a little!} The first day in my new room, I got nothing accomplished. I moved piles around, got rid of some things that the other teacher left, and then decided I was going home {with a few more tears}. So, when I got home to a package from Destiny, it could not have been more perfect timing!
Seriously, as I opened up my package, I could not stop the HAPPY tears from flowing. After a completely overwhelming day, this was exactly what I needed.
Destiny literally thought of everything. I mean, look at all the stuff inside this little box! Colorful pens, an adorable water bottle, pads, notebooks, a clipboard, post-its, hand sanitizer, tiny thank you cards, a key ring, a Target gift card, Chicken Soup Teacher Tales, and the cutest little napkins I've ever seen! I've never met Destiny in real life, but this small act of kindness meant the world to me. Just knowing that someone was thinking about me made me feel like I could handle this new adventure. I cannot thank her enough! This Back to School Survival Box exchange was such a wonderful, rejuvenating experience and I can't wait till the next one!
