Hi everyone! I don't know about you, but even though it's summer, I can't stop thinking about how I want to decorate my classroom for the new school year! This naturally makes me reminisce a bit, so I'm linking up with Second Grade Shenanigans for my first Throwback Thursday post! Hop on over to find some more fun with Throwback Thursday!
When I first entered my classroom last year, I knew I had my work cut out for me. My room had previously been a dumping ground for anything and everything that others didn't want in their rooms anymore. There were two pianos, almost 50 chairs, unused SmartBoards, lots of gym mats, and sooo many random upper grade-level materials.
See that empty space? That was AFTER three hours of emptying the room!
The counters were even piled high! I wish I had a photo of the bookshelf/windowsill!
My dad didn't even know where to start, so he took the job of watching Reilly. Yes, I brought my dog, I told you he was the love of my life! :)
Well, after days and days of clearing out supplies, the next time I returned to my classroom, I had boxes of all of the things that were ordered for me. Oh my goodness, I was excited at first, but then extremely overwhelmed at what to do with everything!
But, alas, I just could not wait to start DECORATING! Here is how my classroom looked on the first day of school..
I was SO happy with how my classroom turned from disaster into fabulous, although, I did make lots of changes during the school year when I found some things not working for me! I got a SmartBoard and got rid of my easel, flip-flopped my guided reading area with my library, and got my sit spots! Can't wait to see how I will set up my room this year!
